Our Design Philosophy

We’re Christine and Ces, the husband-and-wife team behind Room & Detail.

Before moving to Florida from the Chicago area, we spent decades owning and operating upscale furniture and home décor consignment showrooms. Through that experience, we helped thousands of clients furnish, refresh and reimagine their homes—combining treasured pieces they already owned with carefully selected new, vintage and secondhand finds.

Our own move to Florida gave us a new appreciation for how challenging it can be to decide what truly belongs in your next home. We paid to transport furniture that worked beautifully in our Chicago home, only to discover that some pieces didn’t suit the lighter, more relaxed Florida lifestyle. We ultimately sold several of them on consignment after arriving, the very situation we now help our clients avoid.

With more than 30 years of experience in design consulting, furniture curation, seasonal decorating and blending contemporary and traditional styles, we bring both a creative eye and practical perspective to every project. Our services include room transformations, furniture planning and sourcing, move-in and downsizing guidance, seasonal styling and distinctive feature-wall installations.

At Room & Detail, our goal is not to replace everything you own. We help you recognize what is worth keeping, determine what no longer serves your space and thoughtfully bring in the pieces and details that make your home feel cohesive, personal and beautifully finished.
